Ethos Committee

Our Ethos Committee are a team of pupils from Year 1 - Year 6 who lead on spirituality, culture and worship through school. Through song, dance and drama, children learn and retell stories from the bible, supported by a team of adults from the Methodist Church through a programme called 'Open the Book'.  Children have time to reflect and write prayers to thank God and ask for guidance.  The committee also plan, perform and film Epworth Worship Together assemblies. The videos are shared with all schools across the Epworth Education Trust and the wider school community via Class Dojo.

Our Ethos Committee lead says:

"It is always exciting to watch the children increase in confidence and take ownership of both the practice sessions and the collective worship performances; initiating ideas and developing the scripts provided.  In the together time, they reflect on what they are learning which often echoes the Christian values learnt in class. I look forward to seeing what each term will bring."

Our Ethos Committee say:
'I love performing the stories to the whole school. I used to be terrified of acting but I'm not now.'
'It's a good way of learning the [Bible] stories and understanding the messages they bring.'

'I like seeing myself on the TV and showing my mum on Class Dojo when we have filmed EWT (Epworth Worship Together)'.
